Why Twitter is Trying to Outwit Google

Twitter has been one of the quickest growing sites for over a twelvemonth period now; people have literally jumped on the Tweet bandwagon. But the trouble with Twitter is that it has never really had a business sector plan or model. If you look at the likes of Facebook who are now earning millions if not billions of pounds worth of gross income from ads.

But lately Twitter have been redesigning their homepage and if you currently visit it you will come to see that it looks a lot like a search engine. Is this the route that Twitter should really be taking? And should they really be trying to compete with Google.

Ok all is well and good searching for actual time conversations but I think and feel that Twitter will not stand a chance next to Google if they do not actually begin crawling sites and ranking them based on popularity and babble.

They can of course keep the chatter and talk going but what happens when people actually want to see information about a site that has buzz.

But if Twitter actually think about this carefully then they could begin to out smart the likes of Google and Microsoft. Instead of actually ranking sites on onsite and offsite factors they can instead do it from the Twitter platform. Twitter is going to literally expand to the global market, so sites actually getting talked about deserve to be ranked higher.

Anyhow if this does happen you can expect that Google will be doing everything in their power to take control of Twitter and integrate the algo into their search.

Six Straightforward Steps To Separating Your Personal Life From My Clickbank Business

If you home work, chances are you already know that youre really pulling double duty. You most likely work on your business while doing the laundry, corralling the kids, or fixing dinner… And lets not forget all of the phone calls from family and friends expecting you to run errands or just “go out” for an afternoon of fun.

One of the hardest parts of running a home business is separating your work from your family and social life. Here are six proved ways to keep your house life running smoothly while keeping your business on track.  These should help with My Clickbank Business.

One. First, create a work schedule and stick with it. It could be tantalizing to answer private calls during the day or take business calls after-hours, but doing this basically shows that you are expendable – not dependable – and folks will take for granted that youll always be there for any small things that come up. Although family comes first, keep true to your business hours and resist the urge to chat with pals or pick up groceries during working hours.

2. Your friends may consider working from home an invitation to chat in the day or just go out for coffee or shopping for an afternoon. Make it obvious that your business hours are just that – for business. Leave personal calls for after-hours, and youll find that your chums will gradually accept your schedule without feeling slighted.

Three. Simply because you’ve got to set up a work schedule for My Clickbank Business, does not mean that you’ve got to keep the same hours as everybody else. One of the benefits of working for yourself is setting your own hours to fit your most productive times. Whether you are an early bird or a night owl, you’ll find that youll get much more done when you are attuned to your bodys own natural rhythms. Some folk work in the morning, take a break in the afternoon when the children are home from school, and work again in the evening. Schedule your work time when you are feeling the most productive and you’ll find that things get done easier, faster and better than when you were dragging along during those same rigid work hours that everybody else has.

Four. If getting after-hours business calls or work day private calls is a problem, it helps to have a separate business telephone line, or at least an answerphone or voice mail, to take the incoming calls. This also gives your business a more pro appearance to clients than if you and your family make and receive calls from the same phone line.

5. If at all possible, try and separate your house office from the rest of your house. If you do not have the luxurious of a fresh room, a room partition or screen can be just as useful. This also serves as a visual cue to family that youre working and shouldnt be bothered.

Six. Dress and act professionally while working. Some folks find it helpful to dress in casual business clothes during their working hours with My Clickbank Business. This fortifies that simply because you are telecommuting doesnt make you any less of a professional. Answer the telephone with your name, or firm name, and keep your youngsters off the phone during business hours. Also, spend cash making an investment in the tools you need to do your job right. A cell phonephone, facsimile machine or maybe a budget computer can help turn your home office into a real workspace.

If you follow all of these tips and stick with them, chances are you will find a routine that not only makes you feel productive and active in your business, but also projects the message that you mean business – literally!

Remote Working Part 1 – The Rough Guide – Summary

Quickbooks online edition

Obviously not everyone is able to work remotely as many types of employment require us to be at their employers premises or travel to perform their duties in person. But for those of us have the chance to work remotely then I thought it would be useful to share what I have learned and share some practical wisdom by putting it on the Internet in the hope that I could give others helpful timesavers for adapting to remote working or managing remote workers.

I must tell you you that there are a lot of so called ’experts’ online who will try and sell you videos for large sums of money, believe me you don’t need to do this.

I am lucky enough to be allowed to work in whatever location I choose and just about everyone who asks me what work I do wants to get an idea of how I am able to work remotely. Don’t get the wrong idea I am still improving the science of remote working as each day I meet persons on the net who teach me new tricks and I am constantly finding new software and processes that make my life easier and improve my productivity.

In the past seven years I have steadily adapted my working processes to enable me to do all of my work remotely with a mixture of web tools and robust self discipline. One day whilst surfing the Internet I uncovered Quickbooks online and this made me aware of what just might be possible. The encounter with ’hosted’ ‘on demand’ small business accounting software was a special moment for me and the start of my ‘remote working history.

I have to say up front that effectively working remotely is as much about the software as it is about self management. Working remotely also means getting across to your colleagues, superiors and clients as to what they can expect and how they will interact with you.

In ‘Remote Working Part 2 – Staying focused and maintaining concentration’ I discuss how to focus.

Microsoft Sells its Advertising Agency Razorfish

Microsoft is reportedly looking to sell its online advertising agency Razorfish just two years after acquiring it as part of a $6bn deal for parent company aQuantive Inc. A report in the Financial Times suggested that Microsoft has brought in the investment bank Morgan Stanley to seek out a potential buyer for the agency, which according to predictions should sell for somewhere between $600 million and $700 million in the current economic climate. There has been some speculation about whether or not Microsoft would part with Razorfish as part of its new strategy to trim back expenses and restrict its actions to core business needs through the recession.

When Microsoft bought aQuantive back in 2007 it was looking to reinforce its online advertising presence and be in a better position to compete with Google in online advertising. Avenue A/Razorfish, as the company was then called, was far less important to Microsoft than the other benefits aQuantive had to offer in terms of expanding Microsoft’s online advertising presence and give the company a much better chance of competing with the biggest online contender, Google. Acquiring an advertising agency, though, left Microsoft with a possible conflict of interest as Razorfish is a direct competitor to Microsoft’s own advertising campaigns for marketing its products on the web.

Razorfish has a number of A-list clients including Nike, Mercedes-Benz USA, Levi-Strauss & Co and Audi, for whom it has created high profile online advertising campaigns with great success. The amount of money involved might not seem much to Microsoft, but the decision to sell could give Microsoft the opportunity to concentrate on marketing its own products in its own way. The FT report names French marketing company Publicis Groupe as the most likely contender to buy Razorfish, following rumours that Publicis and Microsoft are planning to join forces for a TV ad campaign in the near future.

Real Time Results for Google

The current popularity of Twitter and the fact that Twitter are trying to turn them selves into a real time search engine has made Google remain firm up and respond.

Although we all realise that fresh content was essential to build sustainable rankings, it seems as though there has been a slight algo tweak which is giving more power to new posts from brand and authority sites.

What actually seems to be occurring is that when a new post is created it immediatley gets placed into the Top 10 for competitive terms, this then gradually dissapears over the next few days.

It seems as though Google have increased the algothirm to bring in fresh results a lot more. Once again this is nifty for that extra little bit of exposure.

One good example of this is the phrase “SEO“. First of all it was David Naylors post about geo targeting which came directly into the Top 10 and then slowly faded out as the post aged and then the Search engine journal post which hit the first page and then tardily started shifting out.

So could Google be trying to change the way people search? And would they want to strike a deal with Twitter, so that they can look at the system to analyse buzz.

Whatever ends up happening it will be good to see how it all plans out and develops. Google will be facing some fierce competition in the next few years with a huge amount of new technology and new ideas coming into place. Google need to constantly be on the ball with innovative ideas and approaches.

Keyword Research Help

August 31, 2009 by Gavin

Many website owners want to get their websites listed highly for search terms. Your website will never generate sales if you pick unrelated keywords. The most important part of an online business is keyword research. If you ignore keyword research for a website, you are setting yourself up to fail.

Many webmasters that eventually fail after a short amount of time recommend using long tail keywords. I don’t know who came up with this reasoning, but it’s not very smart. Majority of long tail keywords won’t get searched at all. In my experience, I have noticed that more and more people are choosing the wrong long tail keywords.

You should focus on finding keywords that get a decent amount of search traffic, but rarely anyone is optimizing for them. It not an issue if a keyword is long tail or not. The length of keywords has nothing to do with how hard it will be to rank well for them. There are many long tail keywords that are being optimized by a lot of people, which leads to it being harder to rank well.

I will let you know exactly what I do for keyword research. I look for keywords that I would want to rank well for. Next, I use Keyword Elite to examine the volume of search per month that each keyword is receiving. I try to stay away from using the Google Keyword Tool because I don’t think it is very accurate with the search volume.

After that, I make a search for the keywords that have good search volume. I use Yahoo to examine the websites that have the number one position for their inbound links. I check to see if the website has a lot of anchor text backlinks with the search keyword.

If the website does not have the keyword in their links, then I know that the website owner is clueless. The realization is that the website owner does not know much about SEO, and I can get the number one spot with links and time.

Many new webmasters fall under the logic that it is going to be extremely time consuming and difficult to rank well for terms. You have to realize that majority of website owners are ranking off of luck, and they actually do not know much about optimization. It is pretty easy to take the number one ranking and start earning money, if you find the right keywords.

What to do when a disaster in your home happens

One thing you can count on is that unexpected occurences will happen in this life.  One day your life is in order. Then in the blink of an eye you will have something happen that changes everything.

One of moments that is horrible is if your home goes through some flooding.Nothing bothers your life more than something like a disaster to happen in your home. I have seen it first hand in my San Diego flood damage restoration company.Your normal life and everyday routines is changed.

How quckly you are able to recover is entirely based upon how well you can deal with the issues. So here are a couple of tips to take if your home is flooded.

It doesn’t matter if it is from a natural disaster or from a busted pipe.  You should take the same steps.Of course in regards to some natural disaster there has to be certain considerations. But if all things remain the same, do these steps.

First you want to save money by stopping any more damages to occur. So be sure that you quickly get all the valuable items out of the water.  I have seen people panic and not react quick enough in my water damage business. But the more time you take, the more the items can be damaged. The more in water damage that happens, the more money it will take to keep it together.

Next is you will want to quickly move to dry up any excess water.  The longer you take to do this the more damage can occur.  Damage like mold.  In my mold removal in San Diego company I have seen people not dry up the area and it makes the mold worse. Act quickly and dry all the water up.

As you are able to witness, if you don’t act quickly, it will result in more monetary damages. The faster you move to take action, the less money you will have to spend in replacing any damages. In today’s economy, that is something you just don’t want to happen.

Follow these couple of steps and you will see a much faster recovery.Don’t move as quickly as you should in doing this will result in more water damage and more of your life being disrupted.
